    General Dentistry

We believe in providing excellent dental care for all the family.

At Bicton Place Dental, we offer excellent general dentistry and are proud that many of our patients have been coming to our practice for many years.

We believe in minimally invasive dentistry and encourage our patients to attend regular check-ups to provide preventative care for a healthy smile. At your regular check-up, our dentists will carry out an oral health screen to detect dental decay, oral cancer and gum disease.

Our general treatments include dental hygiene visits as well as fillings, crowns, root canal treatment, bridges and dentures. Our dentists take time to provide a comprehensive treatment plan that is tailored to your needs, along with a detailed written estimate of the cost.

We also offer same-day emergency dental appointments for our patients.

  • Dental Hygiene

    Dental Hygiene

Since gum disease is the leading cause of tooth loss in adults, we believe that regular dental hygiene visits are one of the best ways to look after your long-term oral health and maintain your natural smile.

At your dental examination, our dentists will check for signs of gum disease, which can be reversible if it is caught early. Even if your gum disease is not wholly reversible, regular hygiene visits can still slow down or stop the progression of the condition.

Alongside effective oral care at home, visits to our dental hygienist can prevent and treat gum disease, tooth decay and bad breath.

For many of our patients, we recommend a hygiene visit once or twice a year. For patients with gum disease, it may be advisable to attend hygiene appointments every 3 months.

A hygiene clean helps to remove plaque and calculus from hard-to-reach areas that are difficult to brush. Our hygienist also offers tailored advice to help maintain good oral health at home. We recommend all our patients brush their teeth for 2 minutes twice a day and use floss or interdental brushes daily.

Please talk to your dentist if you would like to find out more about gum disease.

We also recommend the British Society of Periodontology website as a useful resource for patients.

  • Children’s Dentistry

    Children’s Dentistry

At Bicton Place Dental, we provide a gentle environment to inspire excellent oral health habits for life.

At a children’s examination, our dentists will assess dental development and decay as well as provide guidance with an oral hygiene routine and diet.

We encourage families to bring children from an early age to build confidence and create positive associations.  We offer a free examination to children under 16 whose parents have attended a paid examination in the previous 12 months.

Please speak to our reception team on 01395 272027 for more information.

  • Dental Filling

    Dental Filling

A filling is a minimally invasive way of repairing and preserving your tooth.

Fillings repair cavities in your teeth caused by decay as well as prevent further decay from developing.

At Bicton Place Dental, we mainly use a tooth-coloured composite resin, which is carefully matched to the shade of your natural teeth.

During your filling appointment, any decay will be removed before the filling is placed. If necessary, we will use a local anaesthetic to minimise any discomfort.

If a filling is not suitable for your tooth, our dentists will be able to advise you about other treatment options that may be available to you, such as inlays, onlays and crowns.

A trip to the dentist can feel a little tense, so it is no surprise that many patients at Bicton Place Dental like to reward themselves with something enjoyable afterwards, whether that is a quiet evening in or a spot of online entertainment. For those who enjoy a futuristic setting, Space Casino UK brings a space-themed line-up of slots, table games and live dealer tables together for British players. As with any form of gambling, the key is to set a budget in advance and play responsibly, keeping it a light pastime rather than anything more.
